Coach Josh Head Coach

My name is Josh Owens, you can call me Josh or Coach Josh, whatever you prefer. I have swam or been involved in swimming for 18 years. I started swimming competitively at the age of 12. I swam year-round for club swim groups and in high school. My senior year of high school I received a scholarship to swim and attend University of the Pacific here in Stockton.

I swam for UOP’s NCAA Division 1 program for 4 years where I was a part of the team's Championship roster each year. My personal swimming career led me to compete at the United States Nationals meet after my senior year of college. I have coached the Stonewood Stingrays in 2019 and again in 2022-2026. I am very excited to be coaching the team again!

What to expect:

Your swimmer will be challenged almost every single practice. Swimming is hard and they will do hard practices. However, these hard practices are what I know are needed for them to develop as a swimmer. I will never use swimming as punishment for bad behavior or for not doing well in a meet. I want your swimmer to find how swimming can be FUN all while working hard.

Coach Kamryn Head Coach

Hello there! I'm Kamryn, SWE Stingrays coach. By day, I'm a speech therapist, but come summer, I'm at the pool! I have been assisting Coach Josh with the team since 2023. I grew up swimming on a summer recreational league team for many years, and continued through high school. While I didn't swim in college myself, I had a front-row seat watching Coach Josh compete in Division 1 swimming, where I picked up plenty of tips, tricks, and a deeper appreciation for the sport along the way.

I'm all about bringing energy, encouragement, and lots of fun to the team while helping swimmers grow into strong, confident athletes... and awesome teammates too!

Coach Brenden

Assistant Coach

Hey Stingrays! My name is Brenden Davis and this will be my 3rd season as a coach for the league. I am entering my senior year at Lincoln High School and am currently on the Varsity Water Polo & Swim Team. I also currently play for Big Valley Water Polo Academy here in Stockton. I started swimming competitively at the age of 5 for Stockton Swim Club. Since then, I have swam at a variety of levels; Tiger Aquatics & Bear Creek Aquatics, as well as recreationally for Belmont Bullets and our team- Go Stingrays! As a Child Development student who works with children daily and a Student Government leader, I ensure that I am capable to coach your swimmers and help them grow in the sport of swimming.

What to expect from me as a coach: I will be 100% supportive of every swimmer on our team. My hope is to help your swimmer develop a love for the sport and to teach them new skills which help them become a better swimmer and be prepared to swim at a competitive level. As a coach, I strive to challenge your swimmers to do their best and grow. I also strive to create a team atmosphere that is fun and filled with team spirit. I’m looking forward to a great season!
